Philadelphia, PA- Bloomfield's men and women's cross country team competed at the 2008 Philadelphia Metro Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 20, at the Belmont Plateau. Both the men and women finished in 9th place in the 17 team meet.
For the women,
Mercy Puma finished first for the Deacons and 34th overall with a time of 22:47.87.
Jennifer Bedoya came in at 52nd overall with a time of 23:43.46.
Nilmara Zanette finished 61st overall with a time of 24:18.5, and
Alexis Sweeney logged a time of 25:34.52, good for 84th place.
The men finished with 4 runners in the top 60 spots. Leading the way for the men was
William Walsh and
Nick Kipkosgei who finished 26th and 27th overall. Walsh finished at 29:21.34 and Kipkosgei at 29:24.31, just 3 seconds apart. Kevin Quirong finished 33rd overall at a time of 29:37.76.
Devang Patel came in at 31:21.30 good for 55th place.
The Men and Women head to Stockton College for the NJAIAW Invitational at 11AM this coming Saturday.
