PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 31, 2009):  The women's volleyball team kept their playoff hopes alive Saturday afternoon, defeating the USP Devils in come-from-behind fashion 3-2.

The Lady Deacons dominated play in the first set, emphatically taking a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-15 victory.  But the Devils would rebound quickly, and put Coach Valbrun's squad squarely behind the eight ball with a pair of 25-23 set victories, giving them a 2-1 lead in the match and putting the Lady Deacons' playoff hopes on life support.

With their backs against the wall and needing a victory to stay alive in the race for the fourth seed in the CACC Tournament, the Lady Deacons stormed back, taking the fourth set 25-22, and willing their way to a hard-fought 16-14 victory in the fifth set to take the match 3-2.

Senior Ursula Pereira lead the offensive attack with 19 kills on the day, and her sister junior Uerequenia Pereira had her best performance of the season going for 18 kills.  Tiffany Jackson also had a solid day on the court for the Lady Deacons, posting seven kills in the win.

The team returns to action Saturday, November 7 with their final match of the season against conference rival Wilmington University.  The opening whistle is set for Noon.
