Santaluces, FL- A two out, three run triple in the bottom of the 7th inning gave Southern Connecticut a 3 run lead and the ball game as the Deacons fall 5-2. Bloomfield is now 2-7 on the season.
The Deacons got on the board in the first when
Alberto Ruiz doubled in two runs to put the Deacons up 2-0. Southern Connecticut would answer back by adding 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the game at 2-2.
The Deacons would threaten every inning, pounding out 10 hits, but would be unable to overcome 11 strikeouts and leaving 10 runners on base.
Southern Connecticut took a 3 run lead on a two out bases loaded triple to go up 5-2 in the 7th.
Matt Snyder pitched well but takes the loss (2-1), pitching 7 innings allowing 5 runs and striking out 3.
Kevin Lauranzon went 3-4,
James Seck went 2-4, and
Anderson Minyetty went 2-5 in the loss.
The Deacons return to action today when they take on Dowling College at 130.
