Bloomfield, NJ- Dominican used a 3 run 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie before going on to a 7-4 victory over Bloomfield this afternoon at Wright's Field. The Chargers pitching staff fanned 12 Deacon batters and forced 3 double plays in the win. Dominican improves to 4-2 in CACC play and 11-6 overall. The Deacons are now 3-15 and 0-3 in the conference.
Bloomfield got on the board in the bottom half of the first when Kevin Lauranzon hit his 2nd home run of the year over the center field fence to put the Deacons up 2-0. Dominican would answer with a 2 run homer off the bat of Michael Munoz to tie the game at 2 runs each in the top of the fourth.
Dominican would add three runs in the top of the 6th, loading the bases with a walk and 2 infield singles before a Willie Mann double plated 2 Chargers. Dominican added a their 5th run on a sac fly to lead 5-2.
The Chargers pushed their lead to 6-2 in the top of the 8th, but the Deacons responded with their 2nd 2-run homer of the game from the bat of Alberto Ruiz to cut the deficit to 6-4. Dominican knocked a solo homer in the top of the 9th and held on in the ninth to win 7-4.
Matt Snyder takes the loss, pitching 6 innings allowing 5 runs and fanning 1.

Kevin Lauranzon both finished the day 3-4 with 2 rbi, and
James Seck went 2-4 in the losing effort.
The Deacons wrap up their season series with Dominican tomorrow afternoon in a double header at Veterans field.
