Bloomfield, NJ- The Deacons fell in the opener of their three game series against Chestnut Hill in 10 innings by a score of 13-9. Bloomfield drops to 11-6 in CACC play and Chestnut Hill improves to 12-9.
Chestnut Hill got on the board in 3rd taking a 1-0 lead, the Deacons would answer in the 4th on an rbi double from
Chris Rosa and an rbi single by
Alex Sepulveda to take a 3-1 lead. The Deacons plated 3 more in the 5th to take a 6-1 lead.
The Griffins rallied to cut the Deacons lead to 6-4 in the 6th, and added 3 more in the 7th to lead 7-6. The Deacons tied the game at 7 runs each on an rbi single from
Alberto Ruiz.
Chestnut Hill took a 9-7 lead in the 7th on a 2-run single. The Deacons answered to tie in the bottom of the inning on a 2-run homer off the bat of Anthony Addone, the first of his college career.
The Griffins took the lead for good in the top of the 10th, taking advantage of 1 error and 3 walks, putting up a 4 spot and holding on for a 13-9 win.
