Philadelphia, PA- The Deacons put up 12 runs and
Steve Godowski struck out 12 USP batters in a daylight shortened 5 inning win over the University of Science to earn a double-header split. The Deacons lost game 1 by a score of 7-6. BC is now 7-16 on the year and 4-4 in conference play. The Devils split moves their conference record to 2-6 and are now 3-22 on the season.
In game 1, USP got on the board first by adding 3 runs on 3 hits in the 3rd inning and added 3 in more in a 2 error inning for Bloomfield to lead 6-0. The Deacons added 4 in the top of the 5th to cut it to 6-4.
Anderson Minyetty had a 2 rbi double, and then stole home on a double steal as
Emilio Fernandez took 2nd base.
Alberto Ruiz then doubled in Fernandez.
Bloomfield would knot the game at 6-6 in the top of the 6th on a 2 run error, but USP would capitalize on an error and a hit batter to take a 7-6 lead, and would hold on for the eventual victory.
Matt Snyder pitched 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 6. Alberto Ruiz would finish game 1, 2 for 4 with an rbi.

In game 2 BC would add 2 runs in the first inning on 2 USP errors and an rbi fielder's choice by
Alberto Ruiz. The Deacons added 4 more in the 3rd on rbi singles by
Anthony Addone,
Alex Sepulveda, a sac fly by Ruiz, and an rbi double by
Ricky Maldonado.
Bloomfield added 3 more in the fourth on rbi singles by Addone, Sepulveda, and
Jose Lebron. The Deacons added 3 more in the fifth on an rbi walk by
Anderson Perez, an rbi hit by pitch by Lebron, and rbi fielder's choice by Alex Sepulveda.
Steve Godowski was lights out in the victory, pitching all 5.0 innings (game called due to darkness), allowing 0 earned runs, 2 hits, 2 walks and striking out 12 USP batters out of 15 possible outs.
Chris Rosa went 4 for 4, Sepulveda and Maldonado went 3 for 4, and Lebron and Addone were both 2 for 3 with 2 rbi.
