Jon Walsh Recieves NCBWA All-East Region Honors

Jon Walsh has been named a 2nd team selection relief pitcher on the 2009 National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-East Region Team. After missing the early part of the 2009 season with a foot injury, Walsh came on strong just in time for the start of CACC play as he emerged as the Deacons closer and #5 starter.
Walsh finished tied for the team lead in appearances with 15, locked down 5 saves (2nd in the CACC) while making 3 conference starts for the Deacons. Walsh was also a Second-Team All-CACC selection at relief pitcher. Walsh picked up the win over Post that pushed the Deacons into the post-season, going six strong innings allowing 1 earned run, leading the Deacons to their first post-season birth since 2006.
