Junior Nicholas Kipkosgei and sophomore
Mercy Puma were the top finishers for Bloomfield's men's and women's cross country teams at the NJAIAW Osprey Open Saturday afternoon, propelling the men's team to a second place finish, and the women's team to a fifth place finish in the event.
Kipkosgei finished eighth overall in the 6K men's even with a time of 21:08.92. Senior
William Walsh was the next Deacon finisher, coming in 13'th with a time of 21:42.99. Freshman
Moses Rotich posted his best finish of the season, finishing 15'th with a time of 22:05.36.
Kevin Quiroz was the next finisher for Bloofmield, finishing 18'th with a time of 22:29.10.
Devang Patel finished 28'th for the Deacons with a time of 22:51.60, freshman
Steven Bowman finished 37'th with a time of 23:50.67.
Babasola Ojutalayo finished 39'th for Bloomfield with a time of 24:07.71.
On the women's side, Puma finished 19'th with a time of 27:34.02. Senior
Jennifer Bedoya was the next finisher for the Lady Deacons, crossing the finish line in 29:23.03.
Bertina Beaubrun,
Vanessa Lamision and
Shakiyrah Bishop finished in 28'th, 29'th and 30'th, with times of 30:36.83, 30:49.96 and 30:50.31 respectively.
Deana Dedovitch was the next finisher for the Lady Deacons, coming in with a time of 33:19.99, good for 40'th place. DreShonda Williams and
Robyn Burton finished 43'rd and 44'th, with times of 35:04.18 and 35:04.55 respectively.
The team returns to action this Saturday with a trip to the Goldey Beacom Invitational. The men's race is set to begin at 11:30 AM, with the women's race beginning at 10:30 AM.
