First annual Baseball Alumni Game set for October 17, 2009
The baseball team will welcome past players back to the diamond on Saturday, October 17 for the Baseball Alumni Game.
Being held during "Deaconfest", the school's homecoming weekend, the event will provide players who have come through the baseball program with an opportunity to return to their alma mater for a great day of baseball, and to meet the current players whom their contributions have impacted.
"We are extremely excited to be holding an Alumni Game this year," head baseball coach Jeff Watson said. "Bloomfield's baseball program has a long, storied history, and it's important for our current players to understand and appreciate that. We would not be where we are as a program without the players and coaches who came before us, so this will be a great chance for our players to meet these people, and cheer them on as they play."
The game is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, with warm-ups beginning at 9:00 AM. Former players wishing to participate must RSVP by October 1, 2009 to Andrew Mees, the team's pitching coach, at andrew_mees@bloomfield.edu.
