BRONXVILLE, NY - The women's basketball team improved to 6-1 over their last seven CACC contests Tuesday night, as they toppled the Concordia College Lady Clippers 77-51 in their second-straight road tilt.
Coach Wimberly's squad got back on the winning track in a big way, going on a 21-4 run to open the action and never looking back. The Lady Deacons' stifling defense forced the Clippers into shooting just 18% from the floor in the first 20 minutes of play, helping Bloomfield build a commanding 39-17 advantage at intermission.
It was more of the same in the second half, as the Lady Deacons were able to add to their cushion by shooting over 83% from the free-throw line to help seal the win. The Lady Clippers made a valient effort to get back into the contest with a 34-point second frame, but in the end the deficit was too much to overcome, as BC improved to 8-1 in CACC play and 7-9 overall with the victory.
Center
Tiffany McDaniel put forth one of her most dominant performances of the season in the triumph, posting an oustanding 17-point, 17-rebound effort to pace the Lady Deacons at both ends of the floor.
Emily Horrocks netted 14 points and five boards to continue her rock-solid play, and
Dre'Shonda Williams contributed 13 points of her own to continue her hot shooting streak.
The club returns to action Thursday, February 4 with a home CACC matchup against rival Dominican College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
