BRIDGEPORT, CT - The baseball team fell to 6-24 Sunday afternoon, as they dropped a non-conference road contest to Bridgeport University.

Junior righty Louis Castillo was solid over four innings of work, surrendering three earned runs and keeping the Deacons in the game.  But the defense did BC in, committing seven errors over the nine-inning affair, including three in a five-run fourth inning that gave Bridgeport a 6-1 advantage.

The Deacons would rally to cut the score to 7-3 after the eighth inning, with Edwin Pagan plating Jose Lebron with an RBI double in the seventh, and an RBI single by Lebron in the eighth cutting the Bridgeport lead to four.  But a four-run eighth inning put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth, with an Alex Sepulveda sacrifice fly the only offense the Deacons could muster in the ninth, capping the 11-4 decision.

Alberto Ruiz finished his day a perfect 3-3 at the plate, while Lebron finished 2-3 with an RBI.  Pagan came off the bench to finish 2-2 on the day, and Delroy Cox reached base three times on the day, registering a hit and a pair of walks.

The team returns to action Tuesday, April 14 with a conference road doubleheader against rival Caldwell College.
