NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The women's volleyball team has been picked to finish third in the CACC North Division preseason poll, in results released August 18.  The poll is voted on by the coaches of the CACC, with the Lady Deacons posting a strong showing the begin their 2010 campaign.

In the North Division, the Caldwell College Cougars earn the top spot with 97 total points and 13 first place votes, while Dominican College follows in second with 74 points and a single first-place vote.  The Lady Deacons round out the top three, earning 67 total points, while the Eagles of Post University finished fourth with 55 points.  Nyack College rounds out the top five in the North Division, registering 47 total points.

"We'll definitely be using these results as motivation as we get ready for our season," head coach Anthony Valbrun said.  "While these are just predictions, our goal is to win the North Division every year.  So any time we aren't picked to finish there, it's definitely going to motivate us to prove people wrong."

The Lady Deacons open their 2010 season September 8 with a home CACC match against Dominican College.  The action kicks off at 7:00 PM.
