Bloomfield College senior Sara Locke recently was named as a recipient of the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. Locke, who was also named All-CACC Academic and qualified for the NFCA Academic Award program, finished her senior year last season for the Deacons.
"Sara has earned multiple academic awards just about every year I have been here and she deserves every one," said head softball coach Rocco Constantino. "To be a two sport athlete and get the grades she does is really amazing."
The Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) announced the 2009-10 recipients of the DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards presented by WeatherPORT. The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.
Locke started 70 games for the Deacons over the past 4 years, playing mostly second base, but also played an effective outfield. She was one of the top Deacon defenders during her career here. The Dunellen, NJ resident holds a 3.84 GPA and is an Elementary Education major.
